Activated carbon fiber filter
The first stage of water softener system for shower, shower filter, uses activated carbon fiber (ACF). An ACF shower filter costs more than a standard one but offers better filtration and lasts longer.
Standard shower filters only remove chlorine and typically last 3 to 6 months. ACF filters effectively remove chlorine, THMs, organic pollutants, and other harmful substances for 9 to 12 months.
However, increased cost and longer lifespan of ACF shower filters can reduce a company's profit margins. Although ACF provides better purification, most companies still rely on the outdated KDF55 to filter shower water.
Lasts Up to 9 Months!
Under average water quality conditions, the ACF filter can effectively process up to 10,586 gallons (40 tons) of water. Based on recent statistics, with an average shower time of 10 minutes and water usage of 20 gallons per shower, the first-stage filter can support two people showering daily for at least 264 days, or approximately 9 months.
Therefore, we recommend replacing the first stage filter every 9 months to ensure optimal performance.
