Upgrade Guide for the Shower Water Softener System
If you already have the upgraded system, you can ignore this upgrade tutorial. This video is only for the older system.
To make the recharge process easier, we upgraded the system. We also prepared an optional upgrade kit for our older systems, because we want our long-time users to enjoy the improved recharge experience too. If you decide to upgrade, you can follow our step-by-step video tutorial to update your system easily.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at service@softwatercare.com.
- Wrap plumber’s tape around both valves, about 18 turns each.
- Attach the long valve to the inlet on the new softener cap, and the short valve to the outlet.
- Use the valve wrench to tighten both valves onto the cap. The inlet valve elbow should point downward, and the outlet valve elbow should point upward.
- Remove the old cap from the softener.
- Unscrew the connector piece from the old cap (turn clockwise) and pull the center tube out of the cap.
- Insert the center tube into the new cap, then reinstall the connector piece (turn counter-clockwise) to secure it.
- Make sure the O-ring is properly seated on the new cap.
- Carefully align the cap with the softener bottle and screw it on tightly.
- Reinstall the system following the latest installation video. After setup, check our updated recharge video — the new system makes recharging much easier.
After you finish the upgrade, you can follow our newest recharge video tutorial for all future recharges.
