HOW TO UPGRADE

To upgrade, you need to replace the original softener bottle cap with the new one. We have a full text guide and video tutorial you can follow:

🔹 Upgrade Steps:

  1. Wrap plumber’s tape around both valves, about 18 turns each.
  2. Attach the long valve to the inlet on the new softener cap, and the short valve to the outlet.
  3. Use the valve wrench to tighten both valves onto the cap. The inlet valve elbow should point downward, and the outlet valve elbow should point upward.
  4. Remove the old cap from the softener.
  5. Unscrew the connector piece from the old cap (turn clockwise) and pull the center tube out of the cap.
  6. Insert the center tube into the new cap, then reinstall the connector piece (turn counter-clockwise) to secure it.
  7. Make sure the O-ring is properly seated on the new cap.
  8. Carefully align the cap with the softener bottle and screw it on tightly.
  9. Reinstall the system following the latest installation video. After setup, check our updated recharge video — the new system makes recharging much easier.

Shower Water Softener Upgrade Kit

Makes recharging the water softener a total breeze! Be sure to still plan ahead for timing though. Installation was simple, although I thought the demonstration of how to apply the plumbers tape was a bit misleading. I’d recommend watching a quick youtube short on the best way to apply plumbers tape instead, as you should only need 2-3 layers.
